[flips a switch in a console, something beneath the table lights up and there's suddenly a holographic projection of the bracelets. The hologram is kind of flickery and Tony can't play with it yet, but it's still cool to look at]

[ . . . it takes him a few seconds, but Steve slowly starts to smile at the hologram, reaching out to "touch" it. ]

[Steve's fingers go through it and Tony frowns at that]

It's gonna take me another week to get it working properly. The stuff at home is intuitive, you can play with it. Make it bigger, smaller, have it turn. It's way easier to design stuff like that.

[ it's still cool! maybe i will swish my fingers through it a little. ]

You can do... I don't know, sculpture once I have this running properly.

Never done anything like that before, but I could try.

Maybe I should get you some Play-Doh. See what you come up with.

I need more projectors. Do you know how annoying it is to order something huge and expensive, just because you need one of the components?

That's what I'm getting at. [gestures at the hologram] This is like that, except instead of being one big projector projecting one big picture, there are many small projecting part of the picture.

Huh. So where do you get them from?

[points at a corner where there are piles upon piles of cannibalized electronics]

[ huffs a laugh ] Say no more.

I need to dismantle three different things just to put one together. It's annoying.

Sure you don't enjoy it a little bit?

It's actual work... not that I mind actual work, but it's a huge change of pace. At home I could've had those bracelets done in an hour and given them a proper tracking system, and... I don't know. Make them work as watches and two-way radios too.
